• Report Data: Channel/Group/Bot name, link, type, reason, and details provided by you.
• Full Legal Name: Provided by complainants to verify the authenticity of reports.
• Optional Email Address: If you choose to provide it for updates.
• Technical Data: IP address, browser type, device information, and timestamps.
• Government Requests: Official name, official email, department, and message content.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To verify, process, and track your reports.
• To publicly list reported channels, groups, and bots without revealing reporter identity.
• To forward legitimate reports to legal authorities such as TRAI, cybercrime.gov.in, and police.
• To maintain Website security and prevent abuse or spam.
• To respond to legal and government requests as required by law.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your information based on your consent, our legitimate interest in public safety and cyber crime prevention, and compliance with Indian laws including the IT Act, 2000 and IT Rules, 2021.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data with courts, government authorities, cyber crime investigation agencies, or service providers strictly under confidentiality and only when legally required.

6. Data Retention

Reports are stored for a period of two (2) years. Government requests are retained for five (5) years for legal compliance. After this period, data is permanently deleted or anonymized.

• You may track your report anytime using your Report ID.
• You may request deletion of your personal information by emailing privacy@stopcybercrime.in.
• You may withdraw consent at any time, though this may affect our ability to process your report.
• You have the right to request information about how your data is being used.

8. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures including encryption, access controls, and secure servers to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

9. Cookies and Tracking

We use only essential cookies required for session management. We do not use advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking cookies.
